Caladenia arenicola, georgei, paludosa and ferruginea
Back to Caladenia
Beautiful, large spider orchids ranging in colour from almost
fully red to almost white. C. arenicola, georgei and paludosa are very similar
in appearance and differ in flower colour, size and habitat. C. arenicola
is usually quite red with green edged petals and sepals, while C. paludosa
and C. georgei have mainly white petals and sepals. C. paludosa grows in winter
wet swamps.
Caladenia ferruginea is superficially similar to the other species listed
here, but is readily distinguished by its clubbed petals and rusty red colour.
