Caladenia huegelii and Caladenia thinicola
Grand and Scott River Spider Orchids
C. huegelii and C. thinicola are closely related and very similarly looking - to the point that it takes an orchid expert to tell them apart. However, they generally do not grow together. C. huegelii grows from Perth to Busselton and C. thinicola grows from Busselton to Augusta.
| Impressive, large spider orchid. While the flowers are about the same size as a large white spider orchid, the labellum is huge with very long fringes. The plants are up to 80cm high. The fringes of the labellum are often split at the ends - a characteristic of this species. | |||
